This programme is designed to equip students with the attitudes and abilities required for a career in architecture. It concentrates on the skills needed to design well, build securely and communicate design ideas. During the tenure, the students will gain grounding in architecture and interior design, architecture and culture, building science and technology, design communications, communication principles, and ecologically sustainable design. These foundation are extended to architectural design and techniques and computer-aided design as requirements. This includes Urban Design, Computation in Design, and Landscape design. In an advanced stage, students are also taught advanced design projects, studies in management, costing, law, professional practice and elective units in an area of interests.
Career Opportunities
Graduate works in the traditional role of the practicing architect or they take up other positions in related areas such as architectural science, management and research in the government and private sectors. Architecture graduates are readily employable in Asia because of their comprehensive theoretical and practical education, and many have successfully started their own practices.
